Hola has been built with Privacy in mind. As people and users of technology, we take privacy for granted: 1. we think we are having a private conversation, 2. we think no one can rifle through our storage data, 3. we think a picture is just a picture. But, these things are not necessarily true: 1. conversations are monitored – how else can these large App companies freely hand your data on demand to law enforcement (so many examples in the press) – if there was no data, how could you do it?; 2. large data companies offer FREE storage to users of large Social Media sites who freely plunder your data and then direct you to advertising products that you have recently discussed with your friends (check out the terms and conditions), 3. Those pictures have a users Meta Data attached, linking the image to a location, date, time and cell tower – oh yes, that pic of you skipping work.

These are 3 small examples of how easily our privacy has been hijacked, and with a good night’s sleep I think we could all come up with many more examples. Still, its good to know that Hola offers a real private conversation without using phone numbers, on a peer-2-peer basis. Hola also offers our users data space that is not or cannot be accessed by third-parties. Why? Well, Hola carefully controls access to the API’s. Now, as to the Meta Data, Hola does not collect, create or sell Meta Data but we know most tech companies do. Our suggestion, move to Hola and save yourself the headache! At the end of the day there is just nothing more important that a users health, privacy and security.

Locating Users to Chat With.

This is a really simple process so long as you know the user name or the email address of your contact.
1. Open Hola and click on the right hand menu: 3 vertical dots
2. Click on the hour glass – top icon
3. In ‘Locate a Global user’ bar, type the user name or email address of the person you wish to chat with
4. If you find nothing, this does not imply your contact is not a Hola user. It is possible they have obscured their public profile in their own user settings. If this is the case they are clearly requesting privacy. You will not be able to locate them through Hola (yes, Hola is a Private App).
5. Go to your own privacy policy settings in your user profile and reassess whether you wish to be found or not.

All-in-One-Place

If you are a heavy user of chat / messaging like me you will likely have at least 5 or 6 chat apps installed on your mobile phone, and that’s not including SMS or email – you have to deal with them too. Well, and you may know this already but Hola Chat App now offers the ability to manage some of these other Chat Apps (the rest coming soon) at the same time and all from the Hola platform.

I hate to use this phrase but it really is a “Game Changer’. Forget switching back and forth, right now I am managing Telegram, WhatsApp and Hola chats all on the Hola platform, All-in-One-Place: It’s so COOL.

Let me tell you, in life it’s often the little things that make a day go from bad to great: On the left side of my Hola platform page I can see all the contacts that I have synched to Hola via their mini App logos. And, this allows me to manage the full contents of my conversations, and keeps me organised and informed. Even my kids sports group chat is included.

You know what I just noticed: I can forward a message from WhatsApp to a Telegram contact – you know, that pic that was sent via WhatsApp, well now it can be forwarded. In fact I can forward it 50 times or more – I just did it (Seems it only works in Hola). I think WhatsApp only allow you to do that 5 times. Sorry, so excited. Hope you have as much fun playing around with this as me.
